This is a Powerpoint presentation that explains the structure of a Haiku as well as provides examples. It walks through the structure step-by-step, encouraging learners to clap out syllables and identify themes along the way.
You can supplement this presentation by asking learners to create their own Haiku ink drawings as seen in the presentation. Learners use card, ink and straws to blow ink trees and write their haiku next to it.
You can also couple this presentation with my Haiku writing assessment, available in my Teacha shop.

I LOVE TEACHING! I enjoy planning and creating resources that will engage my Grade 5 students. I am blessed to have great resources at my disposal and I enjoy making full use of them. The time I spend with my students is the best part of my day! We love to have fun and we know how while still making the most of our learning opportunities. Every day is an adventure. You can check out my blog here to see how I use some of these resources in my own classroom.
