Analysing a short story

This is an effective 22 slide PowerPoint lesson about the elements of literature. It has been designed to ensure that learners learn how to incorporate the reading process successfully.

This lesson contains:

a) The reading process and how to make use of it successfully.

b) The different elements to literature.

c) 2 Short stories to work through with your learners to practise making use of the reading process successfully. The short stories will ensure that the learners practise in being able to define, identify and distinguish between the different elements of a story.

d) Short and quick questions of each short story to practise what the learners have learnt during the lesson.

d) A summary visual mind map of all the different features of the different elements of a short story.

In addition it contains speaker notes, additional information that can be conveyed to the learners.
